I tested Jasper AI and Writesonic to see which is the best AI writing tool. I used their free trials to compare them and focused on their ability to write high-quality content, core features, pros & cons, and pricing plans.

In this Jasper AI vs Writesonic comparison, I shared my findings with you and also gave my verdict as someone who has used both of them to create content.

Let’s dig deep into what Jasper and Writesonic have to offer

1. Templates 

Templates are the engine block of AI writing tools you need to get started with any form of content you want to write without wasting time.

Jasper has over 50 templates. Select anyone you want based on the type of content you want to generate.

For instance, I picked the AIDA framework template.

Enter the title of any content you want to create. In the description, you tell Jasper what you want to write about. A few sentences are enough and Jasper takes it up from there.

Next, you enter the tone of voice. Other templates have fields like keywords, audience, and more.  Set your output and click generate. Jasper generates content based on the information you gave it.

You can flag a generated copy for low quality or star it and copy it to the clipboard. The idea is to play around with the content to pick the ones that suit your need,  assembly them, and form a great copy.

Every content you generate is saved on the AI output by default. You can see the input that generated an output.

Jasper recently rolled out an update on its Boss Mode plan features. It increased the input text boxes in templates from 600 to 800 characters.

That’s a 33% increase that will allow you to add more inputs for Jasper to generate output for you. It also added a template for Tiktok video captions to help you create funny, persuasive, and eye-catching captions for your Tiktok videos in seconds.

3. Supported Languages 

Supported languages on Jasper are of two types. 

Input language: These are languages you type that Jasper AI will read and they are 24 in number.

Output language: There are 24 output languages. These are languages Jasper will write in. For example, You can type in Portuguese, and Jasper will write in English. 

 So no worries if English, French, or Spanish is not your native language.

Writesonic supports you to write in 18 different languages but it doesn’t support translation from one language to another. Jasper translates from one language to another and it is an edge over Writesonic. 

3. Idea Recommendation

Coming up with a content idea is a task on its own. That’s why Writesonic and Jasper recommend ideas to you.

This ranges from different titles to outlines and introductions. This gives you an opportunity to make a choice and tweaks to get what you want.

Based on your topic and keyword, Writesonic recommends titles, outline, and, introduction Same with Jasper.

You can delete an outline, topic or any recommendation you think is not a good fit. On Jasper, you flag it for low quality.

Idea recommendation is just to guide you based on what the AI believes is working on the internet. 

4. AI Image Generator

Jasper officially launched its AI image generator – Jasper Art on August 19, 2022. The aim is for you to turn your imagination into awesome original, unique, and quality images that will complement your content.

This is an add-on, so you gotta pay to use it. The price, for now, is $20/per month per user. And you can generate unlimited images per month.

A few days after Jasper Art was launched, a lot of Jasper users were on the waitlist, including me. Those on the annual plan were given preference to first have access to it. 

However, developers at Jasper did the magic and opened it to all paying customers. So as a Jasper user, you can now have access to Jasper Art. 

This is an add-on, so you gotta pay to use it. The price is $20/month per user. And you can generate unlimited images per month.

So if you are on the Boss mode plan and want to use Jasper Art, it is $59/month for AI writing + $20/month for Jasper Art = $79/month

Writesonic has launched its AI image generator – Photosonic days after Jasper AI launched Jasper Art. This is to allow its user to generate images, and create logos, illustrations, and other visuals they need to make their content awesome. 

Here’s how it works:

• Go to the web app
• Type in the description of the image you want to create 
• Click generate and that’s it

This add-on is free to use, unlike Jasper Art, where you have to $20/month per user. 

However, the images Photosonic generates don’t match the quality of Jasper Art.

5. AI Chat Conversation 

With ChatGPT seriously competing with Google, Jasper, and Writesonic knew they needed to respond to remain useful to their customers. Jasper launched its own AI conversational tool – Jasper Chat which is available to users on the Boss Mode plan. Writesonic also launched its own – Chatsonic which is also available to users on its paid plans. 

6. Plagiarism Check

Jasper doesn’t have an in-built plagiarism checker. Since the AI copywriting tool came on board in 2021, there has been no complaint of plagiarism at least from Jasper’s Facebook community with 50,000+ members.

I think it’s because it has a large database of words and phrases on the internet. To keep your content free of plagiarism, Jasper partners with Copyscape, the best plagiarism check tool in the market.

This means you can use Copyscape to check plagiarism for the content Jasper generates. Bear in mind that you have to subscribe to Copyscape before you can use it.

The good thing is that Jasper made it possible for its users to get Copyscape at a discount. 

Writesonic also doesn’t have an in-built plagiarism checker. There have been minor cases of users complaining of plagiarism.

Just like Jasper, you can use Copyscape to check for plagiarism for content Writesonic generates but not on its interface.

You have to copy your content and paste it on Copyscape. If you are looking for an AI copywriting tool with an in-built plagiarism checker, you need to check out Rytr. 

7. Grammar Fix

 AI copywriting tools hardly generate sentences with grammatical errors. But there can be cases when a sentence is hard for your target audience to understand due to grammatical errors. Jasper and Writesonic have Grammar Fix.

You can reword or shorten sentences to make them sound clear by adding your own words. In this process, you can make spelling errors.

Grammar tools like Grammarly can help you here. If you have it as an extension on your PC, it automatically highlights words or sentences with grammatical errors for you to fix them. 

8. Long-Form Copy

While Jasper and Writesonic create long-form copy, their approach is different and Jasper creates a longer copy. Writesonic has the long copy wizard in its lower plan. Jasper has its long copy feature in its Boss Mode plan which is a premium plan.

Also, the long-form copy that Jasper creates is SEO optimized with the help of Surfer SEO which many Jasper users have testified to be the game-changer.

Writing long-form content on Jasper is simple. All you need is an idea and Jasper will do the rest.

There is a rephrase tool, shorten tool, grammar fixer, and explain to a child tool to ensure you don’t only get a high-quality copy but also one that meets grade 6 or 7 readability.

In addition, Jasper plans to add a feature that allows you to rewrite a long-form copy running into thousands of words.

9. Formatting 

You can format copy generated with Jasper and Writesonic. The process is the same as what you have on WordPress editor, Microsoft Word or Google Doc.

You can bold or italics words, add bullet points, underline,  add a link to a selected text, and lots more. That makes your content ready for use.

Copy and paste it to where you want to publish it or export/save it to your word document and use it anytime you need it. 

10. Integration 

Writesonic offers integration via API. Currently, it doesn’t integrate with any third-party software. You can email them if you plan to use this AI writing tool and have your own tool connected to it through APl.

Jasper integrates with Google and Facebook Ads. This is because many marketers who run Ads on Google and Facebook use Jasper to create high-quality ad copy.

Writesonic and Jasper are easy to use. You don’t need to be tech-savvy to create content with either of them.

Their interfaces are beginner-friendly and you can explore everything about them in minutes without any assistance.

Their templates help you get started and there are tips that guide you on the next step to take.

12. Recipes

Jasper AI has Recipes which are workflows that guide you on the steps to write different forms of content. There are featured recipes from the Jasper team.

Also, you get plenty of recipes from the Jasper community.

Jasper users who created these workflows have used them to write great content and therefore have made them available for you to use. Writesonic has no recipes or anything related to it. 

13. Paragraph Generator 

Jasper.ai in April 2022 launched its paragraph generator to help you write long-form blog posts with ease. After generating an outline using the blog post workflow, enable the power mode and enter each of the outlines in the paragraph generator to create a paragraph. You can set the number of outputs you want and choose any that best fits in. Repeat the process for each of the outlines. 

Writesonic responded to this in May 2022 when it launched its paragraph generator based on popular demand and in its bid to compete with Jasper.

This feature allows you to generate paragraphs on any topic using the templates. All you need to do is to enter your topic, set your language, create an outline, enter each of the outlines in the paragraph generator, and hit Generate. The process is similar to Jasper’s.

14. API

With Jasper API, you can now integrate Jasper into your CMS, workflow, or app to create branded content at scale. This feature is also available to Jasper Business plan users only just like Jasper Brand Voice. Tech partners are also welcome to collaborate with Jasper and have the API integrated into their systems. 

Writesonic also has an API that does the same thing as Jasper’s.

15. Brand Voice

This feature is available on the Jasper Business plan and is for businesses to use Jasper to generate content that conforms with their brand voices. 

It takes into account 3 core identities of any business:

Knowledge: The product and service you offer to your target audience

Tone: How your brand sounds like and the best ways to use it to win over a potential customer

Style: Writing style that makes it easier for your audience to recognize you anywhere. It could be grammar, punctuation, verbiage, etc

Writesonic doesn’t support this feature.

16. Campaign

Jasper just launched a new feature that allows businesses to create marketing campaigns tailored to their brand voice.
Once you login into your Jasper account, you will see the campaign tab on the left side panel. Click create a campaign and enter the campaign brief which serves as a guide.

Choose the assets you will need for your campaign – Google text ad, blog post, press release, landing page, etc. Within a few minutes, Jasper will output the asset you need based on your brief and according to your brand voice.
This feature is available on all paid plans of Jasper and is a game-changer for businesses that find it hard to create marketing campaigns that will convert to sales.

Writesonic is yet to have a feature like this.

17. Customer Support 

Jasper has a Bootcamp where you learn how to use Jasper to write. There’s also a help center and FAQs where you get answers to questions that bother you on Jasper.

You can shoot them an email and get a response within 24 hours. In addition, you can join the Jasper Facebook community with over 50,000 members.

There you ask questions and get valuable answers from the Jasper support team and your fellow Jasper users. 

Writesonic has guidelines and tutorials. You can also email them for support or follow their social media platforms. It has a Facebook group but is not active and big like Jasper’s Facebook group.
